Excavation works to remove access soil; to determine to correct height and depth calculations were completed.
The excavated area was filled with appropriate base filling material.
The backfilling procedure was designed, including thickness of layers and compaction percentage to assure proper support for the concrete pathway.
Correct angle for the ramp was also calculated to assure wheelchairs do not roll down the ramps at a certain speed.
A site step was created for easy car park access.
To avoid cracking, the thickness of the concrete ramp was calculated so a correct concrete mix design was used.
The concrete required 7 days to fully cure.
The top of the ramp was covered with Resin-coat heavy duty anti slip ramp paint.
Handrails were installed following ramp regulations guidelines.
All the ramps had concrete slabs installed on the site to avoid wheelchairs rolling off. These had to be installed at a certain height to adhere to wheelchair installation regulations.
In some cases manholes had to be moved for correct ramp position.
Shrubs had to be cut back to allow the correct width to be constructed.
